Best Bet: GHOST PINE (4th) Spot Play: ROOTIN TOOTIN (10th) Race 1 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool Race 8 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool MEET STATS: 0 - 0 / $0.00 Race 1 (10) BOMBAY HANOVER qualified smartly for his sophomore debut. Western Vintage-sired gelding showed high speed during an abbreviated freshman campaign and may come out firing tonight. (1) VODKA ON THE BEACH sold for a cool $150K as a yearling but never quite got untracked last year. Trainer Cleary has done well early in this meet and this could be a sleeper of sorts. (7) AMERICAN VISION has been knocking on the door lately but remains 1 of 22 lifetime. Race 2 (2) JULERICA surprised in his local debut with a sharp victory against weaker company. Gelding takes a reasonable step up in company but has been competitive at this level in the past. (1) ITSNOPROBLEMMAN drops a notch and that should play well considering his controlling early foot. (8) TERROR OF THE NITE could be in a spot where leaving the gate could put him in striking position. Race 3 (5) P L IDAHO takes a serious drop in company and figures to be more motivated from this spot. (2) MAJOR WAR was used hard during the middle half and faltered in last. Veteran has some class and is in dirt cheap. (6) BUD BAY was sent on a speed mission in last and couldn't go the distance; that could serve as a wake up call with better cover. Race 4 (8) GHOST PINE managed to work some of his earnings off the card and now returns from the half-mile track at a winning level. Last year he was a sub-1:50 performer at this track and there's no reason to believe he can handle this assignment. (6) CENTURY CHURCHILL gets more post relief as the elder Bongiorno looks for just his second win of the meet. (4) TWINCREEKS JESSE drops a notch and seems placed for part. Race 5 (6) SOLO STORY had to come from an impossible start in his local return last week and did credibly to finish near the pack at the wire. Veteran is better if he can get involved early. (2) STONEDUST is another that got involved coming wide in a quick three quarters and suffered from the early action. Grey gelding was competitive at a higher class. (4) BRUCE'S MAGIC finally gets a post he can deal with after a solid try; can take all. Race 6 (5) NASCAR SEELSTER hails from the overstocked Cullipher stable and can be excused for missing a week with too many horses and not enough slots available. Prior to last he missed three weeks. (10) SOHO WALLSTREET A could be another of those imports that drops far enough that there's plenty of room to move up while still below his true class. DiDomenico-trained gelding can overcome the outside spot. (4) GINGER TREE seems capable with Gingras. Race 7 (10) WHITTAKER N makes a prompt return to the big track following an experimental effort at Yonkers that found him unsuited for an overland trip there. Import had high class growth potential on the big track and may be worth long odds here. (6) STARZNHEAVEN made his first start in a month last week and went evenly against a better field. Veteran won 15 times last year. (5) BELL I NO has been rock solid at this level going for a tag and again figures to have a forward presence here. Race 8 (6) CASTLE FLIGHT found clearance late in the stretch last week and had pace once the winner had a clear advantage. Gelding makes his second start for Dylan Davis and remains razor sharp. (1) FUNKNWAFFLES came up noticeably short in his local return but now draws inside and may be motivated early. (9) K RYAN BLUECHIP Is likely to be hampered by the handicap if he's not able to find early placement. Race 9 (7) DELIGHTFUL OFFER N has been slowly working his way down the class ladder and finally appears to be at a winning level. Import did flash some speed two back and thus should be more assertive this time around. (2) TACT TATE N is another of those imports with room to move up the ladder. He's been more than a handful for driver Dunn since his arrival but last week was the first time he relaxed early. (4) EVER AGAIN was put in a tough spot last week and forced to fend off pressure early; figures closely. Race 10 (9) ROOTIN TOOTIN showed some spark finishing upon dropping to this level in last. New York Sire Stakes winner last year looks to break his 4-year-old maiden here. (1) AWESOMENESS is one of the toughest horses to figure out. Despite high speed and 19 career wins he isn't the best at taking air. Nevertheless the rail should put him in prime contending position. (5) KENRICK N was speed tightened in last and can bounce back from off the pace. Race 11 (9) WHATSTROUBLNUROCKY is a returning 4-year-old that showed plenty of talent as a freshman but made just eight starts a year ago. Trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. brings him to the big track after some solid efforts in Ohio and should be ready here at first asking. (2) DUCKIES DYNASTY has paid big dividends winning his last two impressively and would hardly be a surprise again. (1) J K WILDFIRE is a well-bred 4-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere returning off a solid qualifier but perhaps in need of a start or two. Race 12 (1) OZONE BLUE CHIP got back on the winning track with a blowout victory at Freehold last week. Coyne Jr.-trained gelding gets the best of the draw and looks tough from this spot. (6) J K WILL POWER has a good deal of back class but has struggled some over the last year. A second start off the shelf should show improvement for trainer Harris. (8) FATHER SARDUCCI was off too slowly last time to have a chance yet still flashed good speed late. He steps up once again but can surprise. Race 13 (2) MCARDLES LIGHTNING missed plenty of time and has been quite slow to regain winning form. Needless to say he's done some of his best racing on the front end and perhaps he can blow these out with a speed mission. (1) WHITE BLISS is a great horse to watch in action but not necessarily to bet on. Gingras should have him in contention this week. (3) YUPPER flew home from a very tough spot in last and seems the main threat.
