2024 MEET STATS: 187 - 654 / $1,023.50 (-$284.50) BEST BETS: 27 - 56 / $103.10 (-$8.90) BEST BET: MAN DONTFORGET ME (9th) SPOT PLAY: COMMANDER CATHY N (11th) Race 1: F&M NW12541 in last 5 starts Pace (5) MISS DOTTIE MAE saved ground and didn't play a role in his race last out, but that was against a bit better and coming off a sick scratch. She's got early speed and is always competitive with this type. (1) SALE EL SOL is very logical with the class and post relief; Devita trainee will be close to the action and can threaten. (2) BETTER WATCH IT handled a notch lower two back then wasn't a factor last week from the outside post but she was beaten barely three lengths. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) HELLO YES HI has raced well in every local start this season and has hit the board in her last six with two wins as well; 4YO Burke trainee should seriously appreciate the post relief and gets the call on top. (6) NO WIN NO FEED A is a cash machine in this optional claiming class; co-owner Gingras is back driving and does have to overcome a rare outside post but she's got the speed to do so. (3) FORGOT THEWALLET A drops and draws better. Dave Miller is here and picks up the catch drive. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW5101 in last 5 starts Trot (7) FANATIC is 0 for 32 over the last two seasons but he's been improved in his last couple, including last week where he showed good speed from the outside and picked up a second. Zeron is back driving for Scran and will offer value. (2) DRACO S has been much more competitive in his last three but still could do no better than third; Stratton trainee lands a good spot to improve to a silver or gold medal. (3) PERRON has done nothing of note recently but he drops again and there's a driver chance to Holland; maybe that change shakes him up a bit. Race 4: MGM Yonkers Trot Elimination Top five make the final along with three who took byes. (1) FLYING KRONOS S makes his first seasonal start off a couple of qualifiers, the most recent an open-length victory. Svanstedt has a proven track record with horses shipping over to Yonkers and I suspect this one will be ready to fire. He's coupled with entrymate (1A) SOUTHWIND METRIC, who lands the worst post. (2A) DUKE OF WALNER made some coin as a freshman and should be tight off that recent speed try at Pocono. (2) BARGAIN is the most accomplished here money-wise but he broke in his seasonal debut in the EBC and they figure to be careful here, which compromises his chances of winning. Race 5: NW10881 in last 5 starts Trot (1) BARRY BLACK hasn't won in a while but he remains competitive, especially when drawn inside. He can win with a favorable setup. (4) LIGHTFOOTEDLEGEND wasn't bad versus better in his first start off the Garcia-Herrera reclaim; double-drop in class makes him a player. (2) IMMANUEL K S hails from solid trotting connections but is still looking for his first seasonal win. Race 6: MGM Grand Messenger Elimination First of two Messenger eliminations with top four advancing. Safe to say there are no world-beaters in this year's edition. Who knows, maybe a horse or two stands out and makes a name for himself in the 3YO ranks. (2) HOWLENTHEHILL is five for five so far this year after going winless as a freshman. Two back over the half at Saratoga in a NYSS event he sizzled in 1:51 flat. (7) CAPTAIN SKIPPY hails from Svanstedt and keeps Dexter Dunn in the bike. I'll trust that the connections think he's worthy, and hopefully he can overcome the outside post. (1) BONAPARTE had a recent start over this surface and it was a successful test run. Race 7: MGM Grand Messenger Elimination (6) JANELLE GRANNY is another modest Ohio-bred pacer from Nick Clegg and he was a beast from day one. Colt was good enough to make the NA Cup final, then raced perfectly fine at 99/1 but just couldn't overcome post 10. Tonight he's outside again, but he'll be leaving the gate. (4) HUNTINGFORCHROME had a productive 2YO campaign for Bongoirno and was a NYSS finalist. Nice tune-up last week for tonight. (1) MR THREE O FIVE finished third in the recent NJSS final and Gingras is back driving for the Takter barn. Race 8: NW75001 in last 5 starts Trot (6) MAX was a non-factor in his first start off the $40K claim but that was with an amateur driver in the bike. He switches to Brennan and takes a significant drop in class. (3) BIG CHARLIE MORAN has speed which usually sets him up with good trips. (5) MYCROWNMYKINGDOM hasn't won in a while but he's raced reasonably well in his last four. Race 9: F&M Invitational Pace (4) MAN DONTFORGET ME has won three in a row, as soon as I stopped selecting her on top. Classy mare figures to have a clear path to the lead and can win on the front or from right in behind. (6) COACHELLABOUND N won easily last week when down in class, and paid $2.10. She remains a big threat back in the Invite. (1) BEACH COWGIRL sailed down the road in her local debut but ran out of steam. Does the Burke-trained 4YO cut the mile again? [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) TRUE BLUE HANOVER failed to get involved last week when away near the back in a paceless race but she finished with pace to be fourth. I think Holland can get more aggressive here, like he did in prior races. (2) LUCKY ARTIST A steps back up a notch off a win and we know she's loaded with the back class to be able to repeat. (6) DIXIE DREAM makes her debut for Burke, who brings her from Hoosier to Yonkers. I'll always trust his decision making when he shuttles horses around. Race 11: F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (7) COMMANDER CATHY N has been an underachiever this year as her 0 for 18 record indicated but she is now third-time Lasix and crashes down to the bottom conditioned level. I think we'll see an attempt to leave the gate here. (2) GAME OF SHADOWS is better than her last indicates and she may offer some value off that tiring effort. (5) HALLELUJAH HANOVER also drops to the basement but like the top one is also an o-fer this year. Race 12: F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (3) MY RED SEA was third best last week facing much tougher and she was timed in 1:52 4/5. Recent addition to the Bongirono barn has five wins already on the season and looks like the one in the finale. (2) LATE FOR DINNER shipped from Ohio for the Lorentzon barn and added Lasix, then the 4YO raced pretty well to be fourth behind the top choice. She can definitely build off that effort. (4) CELIA B MONEY hails from Burke, also gets some class relief and moves back to the inner half of the gate. [DRF HARNESS: Follow me on X! @drfharnessmatt]
