ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Favored Willow Bunch ($4.40) loved the sloppy going and posted an easy victory in the $171,300 Jammed Lovely Stakes, a seven-furlong dash for Canadian-bred 3-year-old fillies at Woodbine Sunday.

Willow Bunch pressed the pace while three-wide under Patrick Husbands, and took control from Miss Crissy at the quarter pole, after fractions of 22.46 and :45.76. She drew off in the stretch, and won by five and three-quarter lengths over a closing Kabul, who ended a half-length in front of third-place finisher Deputy Cures Blues. The final time was 1:25.02.

Canyon de Oro rallied for a two-length win over Ww Robin de Hood in the $30,000 Woodlands Handicap at The Woodlands in Kansas City, Kan., on Saturday. It was another three and a half lengths back in third to Morning Merry, while favorite Patton's Victory finished fifth after setting the pace into the stretch. The race was the closing day feature at The Woodlands.

Canyon de Oro ($11.40) covered the mile and a sixteenth in 1:43.20. Gary Kurek rode the winner for trainer Leroy Hellman.

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. - Trainer Janet VanBebber and jockey Alvin "Bubba" Brossette scored their third straight wins in the Grade 1, $300,000 when Panther Mountain upset even-money favorite Catchmeinyourdreams on Saturday night at Los Alamitos.

The 440-yard Challenge Championship was the headliner on a 13-race program that featured five Grade 1 stakes.

Guy Weimer's PantherMountain, at 20-1, held off Kirk Goodfellow's Catchmeinyourdreams by a neck to get the win in a sharp 21.457 seconds, the second-fastest time in the stake's 11 runnings.

SAN MATEO, Calif. - Stanley Park ($16.80) sat well back in the field, moved four wide on the second turn and unleashed a strong stretch run to win the $100,000 Grade 3 at Bay Meadows on Saturday.

Stanley Park drew even with favored Bis Repetitas early in the stretch but pulled away effortlessly to win the 1 1/8-mile turf race by 2 1/2 lengths winning in 1:48.97. Kewen finished third.

"This was our objective since Del Mar," winning trainer John Shirreffs said.

The colt was third in one division of the Oceanside Handicap but was sixth in the Grade 3 La Jolla.

ARCADIA, Calif. - Rush Into Heaven avoided the traffic that plagued several rivals to score his first stakes win in Saturday's $78,300 Pinjara Stakes at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Iggy Puglisi, Rush Into Heaven ($20.40) rallied wide to win by a nose over Lucky Pulpit, who was stuck in traffic in mid-stretch. Mister Bere, the 3-1 favorite, rallied from ninth to finish third in the field of 10 2-year-olds. Mister Bere was held up at the eighth pole, but made up ground once clear in the final furlong.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Eighty-two minutes before the running of the 2002 at Aqueduct, a then 3-year-old gelding named Better Talk Now won a second-level allowance race at Aqueduct. His final time for the nine furlongs on turf was 0.46 seconds faster than Dawn of the Condor's clocking for the Knickerbocker.

PORTLAND, Ore. - Cherishing Duke and Ionix, the top two finishers in a race here on opening day, will have a rematch in Monday's six-furlong feature for $5,000 fillies and mares.

Cherishing Duke proved best by three-quarters of a length on opening day, when she came from just off the pace to prevail in a 5 1/2-furlong race in 1:08.01. It was the third win from 11 starts for Cherishing Duke, a 4-year-old daughter of Go for Gin from the barn of trainer Debbie Van Horne. Jose Rivera Jr. had the mount on opening day and will ride again Monday at 121 pounds.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Trainer Shug McGaughey never has to be in a hurry when it comes to training horses for owner Emory Hamilton. The fact La Reina is ready to make her stakes debut in Tuesday's Grade 3, $100,000 Tempted Stakes says a lot about the quality of the 2-year-old filly.

"[Hamilton] would rather she be a good 4-year-old than a good 2-year-old," McGaughey said of La Reina.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The featured ninth race at Churchill Downs on Tuesday, an allowance for older horse at 1 1/16 miles, is officially named the Believe It. It might as well be called the Mini Clark.

A stakes-quality allowance race, it is a prep for the Grade 2, $500,000 Clark Handicap here Nov. 28. All eight starters are at least stakes-placed, and four - Crafty Shaw, Danthebluegrassman, Pass Rush, and Bonus Pack - are graded-stakes winners.

MIAMI - Trainer Ralph Ziadie reports that Hopeful winner Silver Wagon has returned to training after being sidelined due to a cough and respiratory infection that kept him out of the Grade 1 Champagne.

"He's back galloping, and I'll probably do a little something more serious with him next weekend," Ziadie said. "I don't have any races picked out for him at the moment. Perhaps there'll be an opportunity for me to run him at the end of this meet as a prep for the Fountain of Youth. If not I'll just train him into the Fountain of Youth."
