With just one mobile sports wagering operator and a minimum betting age of 18, New Hampshire hasn't let plateauing handle figures put a damper on its independent streak.
Known for its political independence and outsize importance during presidential primary season, New Hampshire likes to do things its own way. No wonder, then, that the state has chosen to set its minimum sports betting age at just 18 while contracting with just one platform operator – DraftKings – to offer sports wagering.
While DraftKings is about as good as it gets, the lack of wagering options has likely put a damper on sports betting handle, with the $103.4 million in wagers accepted in March 2023 still standing as the all-time monthly high. But aside from a failed legislative push to bring the minimum betting age in line with most other states, New Hampshire has been unwavering in maintaining its one-of-a-kind sports betting ecosystem.
